Another Carrier Withdraws from U.S. Medical Malpractice Arena

Effective February 17, 2017, XL Catlin’s North American Excess & Surplus business unit is no longer writing medical malpractice insurance.  New business submissions are no longer being accepted and current insureds with expiration dates beyond 3/1/17 will not be renewed, subject to applicable state non-renewal guidelines.

This change is not applicable to any medical malpractice business that may be written by XL Catlin’s Bermuda or London markets.
